Dora Barens is an internationally award-winning birth photographer with over 15 years of experience. She creates beautiful, pure storytelling birth reports. Moreover, she is such an experienced professional that her presence during the birth is never perceived as too much or disruptive.
Should your birth be a cesarean section or become one, planned as a 'gentle sectio', a 'MAC', or even an emergency c-section? We both have access to the operating room at the Amstelland Hospital in Amstelveen, thanks to our official partnership with this hospital. This way you do not need to choose between your doula or birth photographer: you get them both attending the birth so you can focus on your baby and your partner. Dora has followed the Doula Academie birth doula training just to up her knowledge on anything physiological or pathological surrounding Dutch births. The past 10 years the 'dream team' Dora& Maartje have attended many births together.

Individual or add-on prenatal sessions or additional doula services

• The hourly rate is €100,- including VAT and applies to all additional sessions or services

Payment for all my doula services is made in 2 or 3 installments, but no later than your 35th week. The first invoice is sent after the intake meeting, and after payment, your spot is definitively guaranteed. Unfortunately, I cannot go on call for you if you've not paid all your outstanding invoices.If the costs are a problem for you, please still contact me and we will discuss your options and/ or a payment plan.

If you need a doula last minute (i.e., after 36 weeks of pregnancy), I can only take you on if there is space in my schedule and at an additional cost of €250,- (including VAT). This is because I need to prepare you (and your partner, if applicable) as best as possible for your birth in a very short time. No sessions will be cancelled, we will plan them in a short time frame to get you up to speed. We will have at least the same amount of sessions as in the 'parents again' package (even if it is your first birth) and more if we get around to it. If sessions need canceling because you give birth before all prenatal sessions are completed, we will look together for the best solution regarding extra postpartum care.
